About Asia Containers

Asia Containers helps buyers in India compare shipping containers before they talk to a seller: the asking prices sellers publish, sizes and weights, grades, delivery and the rules that apply. It sells no container and charges buyers nothing. It is researched and written for India.

Who runs it

The site is run by Leadgoat LLC, 539 W. Commerce St #1964, Dallas, TX 75208, United States. To reach us, see the contact page.

What the site does, and what it does not

  • It publishes a survey of asking prices: what sellers in India ask in their public listings, not the prices at which boxes were finally sold. The survey method explains which listings count and how the figures are worked out.
  • It publishes guides to sizes and weights, container types, grades, inspection, site preparation, permits, GST and import.
  • It forwards quote requests: with the buyer’s consent, Quotbox, the platform that forwards them under its own terms, sends each request to at most 5 partner sellers, who reply with their own prices (privacy policy). How it works follows a request step by step, and the quote form is free.

It does not sell, rent, stock or deliver containers, it takes no payment from buyers, and it is not a party to any sale.

Where the figures come from

  • Container prices: 54 seller listings with an exact price, from 29 sellers, and the asking prices posted on IndiaMART and TradeIndia, last read on 20 October 2026. Sellers are not named next to their prices: the figures show what the market asks, they do not send you to one listing.
  • Sizes and weights: the data sheets of shipping lines, leasing companies, makers and sellers, consulted from 20 October 2026; each guide dates its own.
  • Rules: Acts, rules, notifications, circulars and standards, read in their official text wherever we could; each guide names them, in its text or in the note at its foot, with the date we checked them.

An estimate, such as a delivered price worked out from a published trucking rate, is always labelled as one and never presented as a seller’s price.

How the site is funded

The site is free for buyers. It is funded by putting buyers in touch with partner sellers: Quotbox pays the site for each request it forwards. Being a partner gives a seller no say over the price survey: a partner’s public listings are read by the same rules as every other seller’s, and a figure is changed only when it is wrong, whoever reports it. The site shows one partner’s offer, a monthly rent, on the container on rent and office container on rent pages, labelled as one company’s offer and never counted in the survey. Sellers who want to receive requests can see For suppliers.

Errors and corrections

If a figure or a rule looks wrong, write to us from the contact page with the page and the figure or the rule. We check it against its source: a wrong figure is corrected or removed. A correct figure stays, even if a seller would rather it did not (your prices in our survey).
