Up to 5 delivered quotes, without calling every yard

  • Save time

One form instead of calling seller after seller. Partner sellers who cover your PIN code contact you with a price delivered to your site.

  • Pay less

Asking prices differ widely: for a used 20 feet shipping container, half of the 116 sellers we read on 20 October 2026 ask between ₹1,04,000 and ₹1,40,000, ₹36,000 apart. Several quotes show you where the low end is.

  • Checked sellers

Quotbox checks every partner seller when it joins: an active GSTIN, its company registration and PAN, its insurance, its yard or stock, and its years in business or references. A justified complaint gets a partner removed.

Shipping container cost delivered: trucking, unloading and GST

The price of the box is only part of the bill. Trucking on a trailer, crane or side-lifter unloading and GST (18%) come on top, and most listings show none of them. The delivered price estimate puts them side by side before you ask anyone. Published door-delivery rates exist for a few lanes only:

Door delivery of one container on a trailer, as published in a shipping line's inland haulage tariff (currency not printed on the tariff, read as rupees; GST not stated). Road distances computed with OSRM on OpenStreetMap data on 20 October 2026. No 20 ft rate and no other port had a public door-delivery tariff dated in the last 12 months.

Container on rent, converted or bought

The lowest monthly rent listed in our survey for a 20 ft container on rent is ₹14,000, transport extra: renting suits a site that lasts months rather than years. The only converted container that passed our test of a real shipping container, a 40 ft office, asks ₹4,00,000; most container offices and homes sold in India are prefab cabins, which a porta cabin comparison helps to spot.

Container rates in India: how we read the asking prices

Every week we read the asking prices that sellers publish on IndiaMART and TradeIndia, 394 of them on 20 October 2026, and we keep a smaller survey of listings with an exact price on sellers’ own pages. Cabins, converted units and doubtful prices are left out. Each container then gets one price, the same on every page of this site: “from” is a low market price, which a quarter of the sellers ask or less (at least half of the prices found when there are fewer than ten sellers), and “typical” is what half of them ask or less. We never show who the sellers are, and we do not sell containers ourselves: when you ask for quotes, partner sellers who cover your PIN code answer with their own boxes and their own prices, and you buy from the one you choose. How the survey works and how it works.
