  • Save time

One form instead of calling seller after seller. Partner sellers who cover your PIN code contact you with a price delivered to your site.

  • Pay less

Asking prices differ widely: for a used 20 feet shipping container, half of the 116 sellers we read on 20 October 2026 ask between ₹1,04,000 and ₹1,40,000, ₹36,000 apart. Several quotes show you where the low end is.

  • Checked sellers

Quotbox checks every partner seller when it joins: an active GSTIN, its company registration and PAN, its insurance, its yard or stock, and its years in business or references. A justified complaint gets a partner removed.

Who a new 20 ft high cube is for

It is the box for a 20 ft footprint that must hold a room that looks finished: a small office, a shop or a home module, lined and insulated, with headroom to spare. A 20 ft unit seats two or three desks (container offices) or makes a studio (container homes); a bigger home usually starts from a 40 ft high cube, and container house cost in India sets out the budget. One public listing gave an exact price, ₹2,15,000: too few for a firm price, so ask several sellers.

One-trip

Carried at most one load from the factory: straight panels, even paint, clean floor.

  • One voyage at most, usually from the factory in China to India, then emptied.
  • Straight panels and even factory paint, at most a few handling marks.
  • Clean plywood floor, soft door seals, locking bars that turn by hand.
  • CSC plate with a recent manufacture date.

Check before you pay: the manufacture date on the CSC plate, and photos of the actual unit.

The height that counts

Inside, the height is 2,698 mm against 2,393 mm in a standard box, and the door opening is 2,585 mm high against 2,280 mm. A tall load goes in through the door, so measure it against the opening. These sizes come from one manufacturer’s data sheet: check the CSC plate of the box you are offered.

Colour, delivery and GST

Like any one-trip box, it comes in its factory paint: give the colour you want with its RAL code, and the seller confirms what is in stock. On its trailer it stands 2,896 mm (9′ 6″) plus the height of the deck, so check gates and cables on the way in. It weighs about 2,230 kg empty and comes off the truck by crane or side-lifter; for a box coming from another city, the delivered price estimate gives an order of magnitude on long trips. GST is 18% (HSN 8609): ask whether the quote includes it, and see GST on shipping containers.

Questions about the new 20 ft high cube

Is a new 20 ft high cube hard to find?

Yes, on our figures: in our check of 20 October 2026, one listing with an exact price offered a new 20 ft high cube, against 6 sellers for a used high cube and 116 for a used standard box.

Is a new high cube dearer than a standard one-trip box?

Not on these figures: ₹2,15,000 on one listing, against ₹2,25,000 from 4 sellers for the standard box. With so few prices, neither is a rule: ask for both in the same request and compare the delivered prices. Choose the high cube for its height: 305 mm more inside and 4.2 m³ more volume, on the same floor.
